It's a brand new year, which for many will brings about a time of reflection, new intentions, goals, habits, hopes and dreams. For some they have come busting out of 2023 after having the best year of their lives. They have enjoyed incredible bonds, new marriages, new babies, promotions, new homes, and unmatched personal growth. For others, they were limping to the finish line, their eyes fixed on the hope of better year ahead. They have experienced trauma, pain, grief, loneliness, loss, crippling depression, and a broken identity. "To everything there is a season." For me personally, I'm longing for a year of strong connections to the people I hold dear and more joy in my day to day life. And I'm wishing the same for you too.

Arrow House Counseling has officially been open for a little over a month. It has already been such a joy to begin developing relationships with the clients that I'm working with. It feels good to be back.

My hope with this blog is to offer counseling tips and encouragements, as well as ideas that I'm personally learning and growing in along the way. I'm pretty sure you will also find a number of classic Wendell Berry quotes along the way. He will help guide us here. :)

I'm so grateful to anyone in my life that has allowed me the opportunity to listen to the thoughts that swim around in your mind. I promise to treat them with the respect they deserve.

Next week, I will start off with a new series on some of the simple things you can do at home that may potentially help boost your mental health.

Feel free to answer the poll below to let me know what you're interested in reading about next.

What would you like to read about this year?

  • Strengthening connection as a couple

  • Improving/preventing postpartum depression/anxiety

  • Learn more about Simplicity Parenting

  • Setting healthy boundaries in relationships

Cheers to 2024!
